This might end up being a regular installment on the blog. I guess I have a large amount of work that I'm not sure whether to be proud of or not. So I'll ask the occasional passer-by to tell me if my ugly drawing has any merit. Well, at least my mom likes almost everything I draw.
Started drawing this and stopped, because I just hated it. Then I just started to... no, doodle isn't quite the word I'm looking for... scribble in a whateva sort of manner. It's supposed to be a dancer. lol It's not like it's a complete picture but I got so mad all of a sudden.

I am not sure...I mean, it's really hard to photograph dancing. If you see a magazine spread, the poses the dancers have are just holds for the picture, not from an actual coreography...you can't really capture it. All the feelings and such...it may be even harder to draw it all.
i actually love this.
i think that the texture is very interesting, but that her stance is not very... powerful. most dance has feeling behind it. her thrown back head is good, but the legs just look awkward. if she was doing a kick or if her upper body was just straight and resting it would look a lot better. i really like the tutu and her feet.
This drawing is spectacular - don't be so hard on yourself, art is an expression of you, no one else.
This is amazing!! It reminds be a bit of that Degas statue, The Little Dancer....except it's different. But I don't see her as angry - her legs kind of contradict that, because she's not doing any movement to show it really. I don't know. To me it seems like she's kind of disintegrating, like she's giving herself up to dance, and it's become a part of her...if that makes any sense.
Anyways, I really really love it, especially her feet and tutu.

hey, who ever drew this its really beautiful... i love dancing and i draw also xxx
hi. i think there is some great potential in this.
i'm a dancer, and honestly, it reminds me of how i feel sometimes. wearing a tutu, pretty pointe shoes, pink tights, trying to look beautiful. and then suddenly all of it makes you want to scream.
i love that it's not a specific dance pose. and i think that the upper body is pretty spot on in terms of the figure. the texture of the tutu and face is awesome.
if you ever want to go back to this piece i think you should think about changing her legs, they kind of remind me of the witch's shriveled legs from the wizard of oz, i'm not sure they are as effective as the rest of the piece for me.
if you want to know if it has any merit...it certainly does. in fact i might use it as inspiration for a tattoo idea i've been trying to come up with. thanks!
p.s. if you have any other drawings of dancers like this i'd love to see them. my e-mail is babybluchiq89@yahoo.com.
